It’s like coming home when I chat with Greg Rucka. We catch up on all things Lazarus (comic). Greg discusses his writing process and the challenges he has to overcome while finishing the final arc of the next issue.
If you haven’t read Lazarus yet, skip ahead to about 20 minutes into the conversation. We discuss The Old Guard movie 2 and possibly…3! We also discuss the Olympics and mental health. We are both in awe of the women like Simone Biles and Naomi Osaka that have set an extraordinary precedent.
I am grateful for the privilege and honor of being a part of these conversations with Greg. He has become a dear friend whose opinion I value and company I truly enjoy, not to mention he writes my favorite comic book Lazarus. If you have not started this series yet, I urge you to give it a try.
For those that don’t already know:
Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He is also the writer for his critically acclaimed film The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron.

Thanks for this podcast, Mimi. Lazarus is my favorite ongoing comic, too. Greg, I’m onboard until the end whenever that may be. I hope you, Lark, et. al., get to finish it the way you want.
Thank you! Family above all!
Apologies for missing this comment! Thank you for your compliments! I love chatting with Greg!
You always have the BEST podcast discussions with Greg; thank you so much for sharing them with us (the old guard fandom). We just saw Netflix Geeked tweet that they’re going to have Greg (and Leandro?) call in to their TUDUM “watch party” this Saturday, but I’m sure that whatever they discuss won’t even come close to the awesomeness of your episodes!!
