Learn how to improve your writing from Greg Rucka!

It’s always a good day when I get to talk to Greg Rucka. The Mimi and Greg Show is still going strong after over a year and a half!

Amazon.com: Walking Dead (Atticus Kodiak, Book 7): 9780553589009: Rucka, Greg: BooksOver the past couple of years, I have entertained the idea of writing an instructional book or anecdotes about kung fu life . At the very least, I am feeling motivated to improve my blog posts.

It’s very convenient that I know an award-winning writer to give me advice, right?

In this episode, I pick Greg’s brain about the process and some of the themes from the book Bird by Bird, by Anne Lamott. Greg shares his thoughts on note-taking, writing truth, and the pains you encounter as an author.

Reading Greg Rucka and Michael Lark’s comic book Lazarus is what started me on the path of activism. Who could’veLazarus | Image Comics guessed years later that I would be writing a bill? It was special to share a moment of joy with Greg since my AAPI history bill got filed the week we recorded.

If you live in Florida, please write your legislators to cosponsor and vote YES on HB281 and SB490, which will mandate the teaching of AAPI history in our k-12 education curriculum.

I am grateful for every conversation with Greg and still get excited before we log on, even 40+ episodes later.

For those that don’t already know:
Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He is also the writer for his critically acclaimed film The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron
