Stan Sakai was so sweet to sit down with me at Rose City Comic Con where we caught up on all the adventures of Usagi Yojimbo.
He also shares his passion for his newest hobby: weapons training! I enjoyed my time at RCCC, but kickstarting the weekend speaking to one of my favorite creators in the industry was special.
Stan Sakai is a recipient of numerous awards including: National Cartoonists Society Comic Book Division Award, multiple Eisner Awards, the Eisner Hall of Fame, an Inkpot, an American Library Association Award, a Cultural Ambassador Award from the Japanese American National Museum, and Harvey Awards.
He is however, the most humble person and I am grateful to know him. Our interview is brief since we were busy at RCCC, but I enjoy every moment with him.
