It’s another fun episode of the Mimi & Greg Show! For those that read Greg Rucka’s incredible Lazarus comic, you will notice disturbing similarities between the world he built to the one we are living in today. Greed and wealth inequality are major themes in the comic. We discuss these parallels between our society and the Lazarus world. He also shares his research and creative process for world building.
Since I’ve been reading Lazarus and Black Magick, I am selfishly asking Greg Rucka questions about these stories, but please feel free to send in your own questions for Greg Rucka as we are doing some listener question episodes in the upcoming weeks.
Please note there are Lazarus spoilers in this episode, so save it for after reading if you don’t want to hear any spoilers.
I am grateful to Greg for sharing his insights and knowledge about wealth inequality. The more I learn, however, the more frustrated I get. We can all do our small part by paying attention to who we elect and holding our government accountable.
For those that don’t already know:
Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He is also the writer for the hit film The Old Guard starring Charlize Theron.
