Hi Everyone! Greg and I ditched the comforting conversation of last week and moved back into the darkness.
This was recorded during the week of the protests that resulted from the brutal murder of George Floyd. I am frustrated by the senseless killings and saddened that we are still so divisive as a country and that racism is still so prevalent in this country.
I’d like to remind listeners that Greg and I share our strong opinions on this show – so if you don’t want to hear that part of the discussion, you can skip ahead about 20 minutes or check the show notes.
Greg and I also talk about The Old Guard and his novels Alpha and Bravo. He shares some insights for writers on how to weave current events or thoughts into a story. I am no writer, but it was fascinating to learn how a master of writing does it!
I am very grateful to Greg for always taking time to talk to me amidst his very busy schedule of projects. He’s been especially busy promoting the upcoming film, The Old Guard, directed by Gina Prince-Bythewood and starring Charlize Theron and Chiwetel Ejiofor.
Greg Rucka is a New York Times bestselling author of hundreds of comics and nearly two dozen novels. He has written for film, television, and video games. His career has included critically acclaimed and Eisner-winning work in both the creator-owned and work-for-hire arenas.
As always, please listen with an open mind and remember that my opinion on politics are my own and do not affect my position at work.
I’m loving these conversations and hope you are too. If you are, please rate my podcast on our platform of choice! inally, please help support this podcast by SHARING and RATING it.
