Gene Luen Yang is a cartoonist and teacher who’s been drawing comics since he was a kid. He rose to fame with his award-winning graphic novel “American Born Chinese,” which won a National Book Award nomination, the American Library Association’s Printz Award and an Eisner Award. He’s also written popular comics like “Boxers & Saints” and contributed to “Avatar: The Last Airbender” and “Superman!” A talented storyteller, Gene also teaches creative writing and served as the National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature.
