Thien Pham is a talented comic book artist, writer, and illustrator known for his contributions to the world of graphic novels. His creative endeavors include works like “Sumo,” “Level Up,” and collaborations with authors such as Gene Luen Yang.
Thien generously recounts his journey in the world of comics and shares his origin story. Thien is also a high school teacher and discusses why AAPI history is significant for students.
We also discuss his graphic memoir Family Styles, his biographic book about his family’s immigrant story beautifully told through the lens of food.
I am also grateful to Thien for being a contributing illustrator to the Make Us Visible Florida Asian American History Activity Book – available soon! visit makeusvisible.org to order a copy.
